Empowering 2,000 Women to Lead Africa's Tech Revolution
A Bold Commitment to Closing the Gender Gap in West African Technology
The future of Africa's digital economy depends on who gets to build it.
Right now, women - particularly Black women in West Africa are significantly underrepresented in the technology sector. While women make up 17% of tech roles globally, that number drops to less than 10% in West Africa.
That's why we're launching the Women in Tech Initiative - a bold, focused program to train and mentor 2,000 Black women across West Africa in emerging technologies by Q2 2026.
We want to create role models, we want to open economic opportunities, and we want to build a pipeline of talented women who will shape Africa's digital future.
Why is this important for 2026?
When women are excluded from technology, we all lose. We lose diverse perspectives in product development. We lose innovative solutions to problems that affect half the population. We lose economic potential.
Black women in West Africa face compounded barriers:
- Limited access to quality tech education
- Fewer role models in technology careers
- Cultural expectations that steer women away from STEM
- Economic barriers to training and equipment
- Less access to mentorship and professional networks
These barriers aren't insurmountable.
They're solvable. And we're solving them.
